Event 1
Participation:
The event involved 60 citizens, including citizens from London (UK), Berlin (Germany), Cluj Napoca (Romania), Sofia (Bulgaria), Bologna (Italy), Barcelona (Spain), Warsaw/Lublin (Poland), Amsterdam (The Netherlands)

Short description:
The aim of the event was: Preparation of the launch of the Festival, Review of Participatory methods and transnational communication tools. Day 1 – arrival of participants, meeting to finalise the meeting programme, Day 2 – meeting in open air to test viral videos and photo making, Day 3 – communication tools, participatory methods and share of festival communication material
The event was designed to allow a smooth communication and exchange between cities during TRANSEUROPA Festival. It included activities such as silent brainstorming, workshops, full room exchanges and outdoor activities. A whole day was dedicated to communication planning (Make People Feel Part of a Community – Branding the venue and stimulating an online community, Invite people to continue the Journey with European Alternatives – Workshop) and lot of time to training and exchange on participatory practices: How best to engage the audience – in all its diversity – during events: best practices and exchange of experiences

Short description:
In October Sofia hosted Transeuropa festival for the third consecutive year. The festival happened simultaneously in several European Cities under the common slogan IMAGINE – DEMAND – ENACT.
The Festival presented screenings and debates about migrants in Bulgaria and asylum-seeking, and reflected in interactive ways the focuses of the year-long protests going on in 2012/2013. Also, the festival featured an exhibition of “emotionally charged objects” as means of narrating personal stories of LGBT people in Bulgaria in an attempt to politicize the personal sexual identity.
TRANSEUROPA FESTIVAL SOFIA included several events and activities, including a Bike tour, an exhibition on emotional objects, urban games, debates on Bulgarian protests and on fortress Europe , film screenings focused on housing, development and privatizations, protests, and on migration.

Short description:
The aim of the event was to raise awareness on European citizenship. TRANSEUROPA Festival in Lublin included a transnational walk, film screenings at the Labirynth Gallery
`Rebel within the city’, Screening of short movies about social movements – mainly on the arab spring and its causes. The films portray the situation during the protests and raise the question “What leds people to revolt against the government?’1. Tripoli stories: Graffiti; The Secret Room; Granny’s Flags 2. Rabat Stories: El Mikhali; Bitter Return; Men Choufouch; Hand and Four Fingers 3. Benghazi Stories: the Salesman; Poet of the Sea; The Driving Lesson; African Urban Dreams; 4. The noise of Cairo, Film Screening and Debate on Women on the Job Market, with the main actress and sociologists, a debate on Precarity 25+, one on What citizens can do? and one debate and film screening on Reclaim the City!

Short description:
The aim of the event was to raise awareness on European citizenship and invite participants to become active European citizens themselves during and after the event. The Festival in Paris included a Film Screening of the movie ‘The Pipe’ and a debate with Maximes Combes on shell gaz exploitation. A debate on Citizens mobilisations in Europe and one on of freedom of expression and a bike tour on alternatives to capitalism and nez ways of living together that can be found in Paris.

Short description:
The second edition of the festival in Warsaw dealt with difficult topics for Europe: economic crisis, migration and the formation of new social structures and social mobilization. The Year 2013 has been announced by the European Commission as the European Year of Citizenship, and it is the people of Europe that the festival puts in the spotlight. The Festival included films screenings on the situation in Africa and Arabic countries after The Arab Spring, a workshop on designing one’s career and a conference on city partnership and a transnational walk.

Short description:
The Festival in London was composed of participative workshops. The workshops were focussed on ‘Neonomadism and the LifeStyle Hackers’, Making Sense of Europe, Subverting stereotypes, Twerk your network and on Co-design: My 2020 Create your own scenarios for the city of the future, on Social Circles, Co-Workers Co-Ops , and perfomances on the topic From Zombie Generation to Lifestyle Hackers, Remaking a City, Asset Mapping and Opportunity Realisation. There were and debates about the economic crisis and on migration. There was an exhibition on Making a Living Generation. There were also urban games to connect various European cities.

Short description:
The festival in Amsterdam was composed of various activities aiming at bringing people to think and act differently about Europe. It included a Film / Debate on Repression in the job market! on ‘A Long Story’ and a Debate Labour migration in the European Union, cultural evenings, workshops, and a bike tours ‘Tour d’Europe’.

Short description:
The Festival focuses on citizens engagement and forms of civic participation, as well as key issues for Europe and Romania today such as discrimination and environmental resources exploitation and privatisation. This included an NGO Café, Lectures on Democracy, film screening on Worker Control in Venezuela workshops on Alter communities, on local food production, urban tour and games, on shell gas exploitation, music, debates on mobilisations and film screenings.

Short description:
The Festival in Berlin included both outdoors and discovery activities of the city and of alternative forms of organisation of collective life, as well as high profile debates and discussions, ending with an evaluation session of the festival around Europe. It included urban games and tours, an Unconference based on the Festival keywords ‘IMAGINE ! DEMAND ! ENACT ! an alternative Europe – TRANSEUROPA FORUM 2013’, an exhibition of objects on ‘if there was another Europe’, the presentation of the festival social media film and the evaluation of TRANSEUROPA Festival and how to move forwards sessions.
